Freddy Deeb, one of the leaders after WPT Montreal Main Event Day 1B

The World Poker Tour carried on their 3rd Canadian stop of this year with Day 1b of WPT Montreal at the Playground Poker Club.

Settled just outside of downtown Montreal, Quebec, 235 players came through Playground’s doors on Saturday to try to qualify for Monday’s Day 2.
Another ten 1-hour levels of play came to an end with just ninety-six players still having chips. Among them was Freddy Deeb, who ended 2nd at the very last WPT event he cashed  World Poker Tour Legends of Poker in LA this last August. He looks to be going for another deep run, holding a 4th-best heap of 180000 in chips.

Aggregated with Day 1A, this tournament has had 362 members as of now and hundred and forty-one of them are going to the second day at this point. Top three of Day 1B were the only players to pass the 200000 chip mark. Topping the way was Abdallah Aljboul with 252300 chips. Behind him by just a few stakes was Marco Caza with 252000. In the 3rd best spot was Michael Tieu with 220300.
Outside of Top-10, there were many other significent players who grabbed chips including Jeff Gross (53,000), Kevin MacPhee (54,300), Sam Chartier (60,900), Darren Elias (82,600), Mike Sexton (82,900), Jonathan Duhamel (99,400), Mike McDonald (116,200), Marc-Andre Ladouceur (127,500), and WPT Montreal champion Jonathan Jaffe (71,700).
